OK so it was only to Guernsey but the crossings were as calm as could be, which was nice. As usual, 'the little red thing' caused a lot of interest and I spent hours taking to tourists from many countries. It's only a shame that I couldn't monetise the interest as it was considerable. Whilst the Pembleton is a good size for the island's roads driving was not always comfortable thanks to the low speed limits. In case you don't know it's 25 mph in built up areas and 35 elsewhere. I think it may be an issue with the choice of the close ratio 'box but it was hard driving behind the many cyclists and other slow moving traffic. As an Austrian friend of mine on the island used to say 'the Fuhrer's real estate' is wearing well but the local stuff from the nineteenth century seems to be keeping up.

I was a little naughty when I drove down a road that was closed to all traffic except permit holders because

I wanted to see the murals created for an arts event. I spent so much time talking to passers by that I was worried that the old bill would come along and arrest me. Every time I saw someone in high vis. clothing I started to panic but fortunately it was only workmen going to properties along the street.

I'm not sure if I'll take the Pembleton next time I go in the autumn but as I'm hoping to buy a Citroen 2CV in the coming weeks maybe I'll take that. If I do I'm pretty sure the weather won't be as perfect as this time.
