T24 Annoying Vibration Passenger Side.
I had this start just before finishing the run in period. I could hear it coming from the passenger side. It gradually got a bit louder over time. It generally only occurred in 4th gear. I checked wheel bearing, drive shafts, gave them extra grease, not fixed. After coming back from Sturton Le Steeple I decided to get this solved.....
After looking round under the bonnet, again and checking everything that was vaguely loose I tore a Post it Note in two and placed it either side of the gear lever support. Vibration gone..... The bloody thing was vibrating the whole glove box making it sound like the drive shaft or wheel bearing was making the noise. I also feared it might be an issue with 4th gear in the box, but gladly not. Just been out for a run round and the above has solved it and further more the paper doesn't appear to be dislodged during driving. Whilst not a preferred solution it will certainly do for now.
So heads up if you have a loud resonance in say 4th gear, just try some compliant shim in this fitting. Hope it saves someone else head scratching.
